George Macedo was born in Bangkok, Thailand in 1967. Orphaned and put up for adoption, he was brought to the United States by a U.S. serviceman who was serving during the Vietnam war.
George began drawing at the age of 4 while observing artists on television teach step by step techniques. He continued this interest in art through grade school and college, eventually earning a fine art degree from the University of Central Florida in 1991.
Today, George is the lead illustrator and supervisor of the Maple Landmark Woodcraft graphic department in Middlebury, Vermont. Several wooden toys have been recognized as award winning during his time with the company.
Recent works of art involve watercolor, acrylic paintings and digital vector art, but the foundation of drawing with pencil remains the same.
